Subject:September 11th......
Time:10:53 am.
In a day like today, where remembrance and reflection is necessary..... We should all be thankful for what we have, especially our family and friends.

And with that in mind . . .

A certain someone has recently been removed from my brothers' and I life. Although it might have been there choice to take away there friendship, and ours also, this is my little way of extending my hand/friendship out to them. On a day like today, I realize that I myself may have acted with too much emotion and without enough thought. And with that in mind, I ask myself, and "them" to think... Isn't everything we've all put each other through seem so ridiculous and unnecessary? Cause in one moment of any day, we might never have the ability to be friends.... So instead of wasting this time we've been given, shouldn't we take full advantage of it and make the most of our time with each other ? Learning and appreciating what all of us have to offer each other and this world ?

Just something to think about it.....

I'll be the first out of all of us to say, "I'm sorry".

You know where to find me.

Subject:Heavy rain ....
Time:6:29 pm.
Mood: contemplative.
There's something about heavy rain outside my window that really comforts me. Especially in the summer when it's still hot as hell out, and the rain comes down and really refreshes everything. It really puts me in a good mood.....

Well things have been great as of late. I ventured down to my old stomping grounds, good ol' Richmond, Virginia. I miss it like hell to say the least. Not Richmond itself, but the people that are there. Ever since I've moved away, my life has improved drastically. Everything has come together for me and honestly I can't feel more blessed, since I've left there. But since I'm moved, I have yet to stumble upon one person that is 1/2 the friend that my friends in Richmond are. (excluding my girlfriend of course)

The reason I returned to Richmond was because it was a dear friend of mines birthday, Rikka. She's nothing of short a great friend, and it's always SOOO MUCH FUN to be around her. A group of all of our old friends, met up for dinner and drinks at the Hardshell. A scrumptious seafood restaurant, that opens it windows when the weather is nice and warm. Warm to them, is most likely HOT to me, and yes, I was sweating through dinner. Luckily my boy Brandon was next to me, and as always, we sat around bitching about how hot it was, and how crazy the restaurant was for opening the windows in 70 degree weather.

Following dinner, Brandon and I returned to his home, to hangout for a bit, as the rest of our friends bar-hopped. Bar-hopping, clubbing... whatever. It's all boring to Brandon and I. And as usual we left dinner early, with our now infamous line of,"Hey, we'll meet you out later k?" Anyhows, since leaving Richmond, there is nothing more that I starve for than, good old fashion bullshitting with my boyz. And let me tell you, if there's anyone I can sit around and bullshit with, it's my boy B.

We finally met up with everyone, and that's when the night pretty much started. We met up at a friends house and ............ DID NOTHING!!! And let me tell you, it was the fucking BOMB !!! Perfect, I couldn't have asked for anything better than that. For once, I had time to chat w/ every friend that I wanted too, and at the same time ignore the ones that I didnt' feel the urge to talk to (u know who u are). It was great.

Night ending at 5am in the morning. I stumbled home and got about 2 hours of sleep. Only to be awoken by Paula, asking me to get going so we wouldnt' waste the day. I struggled through the morning, and made it to NOVA in good shape. She and I decided to watch "Identity" w/ John Cusack. IT TOTALLY TOOK ME OUT OF MY FUNK, and had me jumping everywhere. GREAT MOVIE. GO WATCH IT.

Rest of the weekend was spent having quality time with the folks. Paula and I haven't done so in awhile, so we just stayed in pretty much, and it was absolutely relaxing. At this point in my life...theres only 3 things that really make me happy.....

My family, Paula, and my friends....

What more do you need, right ????

Oh wait....ok.... Money and Paul van Dyk Livesets.

Subject:It's too nice out for me to be inside . . .
Time:2:16 pm.
Mood:cold-kickin it.
Friday, Paula and I decided to take out to dinner, her father, and good friend Aseel, to this new little restaurant we discovered not too long ago, Anjou. It's incredibly appealing, and the wide selection of French-Asian fusion food is refreshing. You can crave anything Korean, Japanese, or French, and get it here. From bulgogi and sashimi to steak frittes with wasabi caesar salad, you'll have no problem finding something for anybody’s tastes.

I opted for the seared tuna, and greens with a miso dressing to top it off, and the Pike fish with spinach pasta. Both were delectable, and were perfect in portion. ( and let me remind you, my portion, is rather larger than most ) With a couple a drinks in everyone, we all had a delightful conversation that never dulled, and honestly, it was a fun night. It's amazing how enjoyable I found the night... good food, good people, good vibe... great night. I swear I'm getting old. No wait, let me rephrase that. I know I'm getting old, when instead of loud music clubs, where lots of glow sticks and overly pretentious people inhabit; I’d rather be chilling with a drink and talking about politics and the stock market.

Ok, no stock market, and DEFINITELY no politics, but still, it sounded like the right thing to say :)

Saturday night was more geared towards going out and relieving some of that pent up stress from the long week. Paula and I spent 2 hours taking turns spinning and practicing on my turntables. It's a dream of ours one day to become an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) Dj'ing tandem. Much like deep dish, hybrid, or even Sasha and digweed. And although the chances are, we'll be spinning baby diapers and baby toys versus records; you never know what can become. I mean, look at Sandra Collins, her boyfriend was a dj, and she would play on his decks when he’d goto work without him knowing, now look where she is. (yes a big drunk, but still, a good dj, nonetheless)

So this weekend Paula is headed to DC to see my parents and I. She and I will than head to Richmond to spend my friend Rikka's birthday with her, and of course to see all my close friends and hangout with everyone. Looking forward to seeing my boy Brandon, it’s always fun and crazy hanging out with him. Although we might not see each other often, when we do hangout, it’s like I never left Richmond really. And that’s a comfortable feeling, I don’t get to enjoy often these days. Returning Saturday to DC, we’ll most likely just enjoy the family, and hangout with Mo and Lu for some much needed catch up time, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen either of them.

Spring is here, and in full effect : (Check out a picture of my parents home and my little cousin with her handdrawn Barney t-shirt, done by my father)

Subject:Long time coming . . . .
Time:10:09 am.
Wow it's been an incredibly long time since I've last posted an entry with some sort of depth. And to be honest with you, I dont' quite have the time to recall in detail what really has been going on with me the last month or so. I have taken some pictures of recent engagements that I have been a part of, and I will let the speak for themselves. Otherwise, a couple things that I would like to address are:

- Happy Birthday Gerard and Mo'. I had TOO MUCH FUN going out with you guys, and as always it was an absolute pleasure.

- Linda its been great getting to know you, and I hope we have more opportunities in the near future to grow as friends. You've been a shining light in Minh's life, and after having the chance to meet you... I without a doubt believe that you two were made for each other.

- Brandon and Co. in Richmond. As always it was a freagin BLAST to see everyone and hangout with you dawg. It's like I never left Richmond. Thanks for everything and as always, you make me feel right "at home". 2-1

- Wootang... My dawg for life, what more can I say.

- Dont worry Bu. Things always happen for a reason, and you know I stand by you 100%, no questions asked. :)

- 2 people that I got to meet in the last month, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Paul van Dyk, legends in there own right. Personally got to shake van Dyk's hand and got an autograph dvd and picture (below)

- NYC is da bomb. I hope to visit again there soon. Paula and I had a blast with some friends up there, and didnt' want to leave. Unforunately our finances don't allow us to hangout up there too much. Not yet at least....

Subject:Food is Love
Time:8:41 pm.
Mood: annoyed.
Just got my pictures back from Valentines night dinner. A delightful meal that my girlfriend put together for me, much to my stomachs content. Here's a recap:

Appetizers were, freshly shucked oysters with lots of horseradish, cocktail sauce, and lemon. (Scroll down, I recently filled out a survey saying that this was my favorite food) I guess that's what people mean when they say that the food was prepared with love , huh ?

The main course consisted of a conglomerate of various fresh seafood and vegetables. Tied together with a clam juice based sauce made from artichokes, mushrooms, green peppers, and capers.

And the delectable dessert was fresh strawberries covered in chocolate. Hand-dipped and chilled by my very own personal chef.

Of course, she topped it all off with a great bottle of wine, decor, and well ... herself. What else is there right? I finally came to understand why people say food is made from love. And when it is, it surely tastes a whole hell lot better than any 5 star restaurant.

More to come on my week..... just got through a car accident today, so had to right about something nice, to calm myself down. Will go into detail soon..

Subject:I'm back . . .
Time:7:10 pm.
Mood: cold.
It's been awhile I must say.

First and foremost, a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Dawn pinaysmurfette and my cousin Khoa cudenlon they recently were engaged on Valentines day in a little romantic rendezvous that Khoa planned out meticulously beforehand. Rather pimp I must say, and my hats off to him for doing such a great job, and working so hard to get where he is today. I have nothing but respect and love for him, for he's one of few in my family of cousins, that I feel I have a bond with.

Secondly, my apartment-to-be is finally starting to look like "home" to me. Paula and I have worked hard for 9 months saving and cutting corners in order to be able to decorate, and furnish our apartment the way we want it to be. Our brand new queen size bed was delivered on friday, and is at the moment being put to the test with many hours of sleep and relaxation being clocked on that mamma jamma.

More importantly (remember I'm a guy) my brand new 47" wide screen Samsung digital HDTV was delivered to me on saturday. I must say I was in awe of it when the delivery guys brought it down the steps into the apartment. I almost didn't want to touch it, in fear that I would leave fingerprints on the screen or any unnecessary dirt on the exterior. I rushed to plug it in, and eagerly ran across the room where my couch was going to be, kicked back, and looked up, waiting to experience, TRUE DIGITAL TELEVISION.

True television, was not what I experienced. Instead, I saw a grainy and pix-ely screen, and almost fell flat on my face at what had just transpired.

FUCK. I bought a shitty TV. OR My new TV is fucked up. (pardon the language, but this is the only way I can express how I felt at the time What I did realize was that if I laid down on the ground and looked from different angles that my TV was great, but if I looked head on at eye level(the way most people in America watch there tv) than the picture wasn't good at all. (note to myself at the time "No I didn't just spend more than a grand for a TV that looks only good when laying on the ground")

Ok. Don't Panic. It's the cable. It must be the cable connection. So instead of watching a shitty TV, I unplugged it, and swore I would get to Bestbuy the next day and get a new connection for my beautiful 47" Samsung digital HDTV. (Sorry but I love the sound of that . :)

The next day came, and along with 20 inches of snow also. NO bestbuy. Fuck it. I plugged in my TV, and to my astonishment saw something that wasn't quite right. How come the cable cord was plugged into the "OUT" outlet? That's not supposed to go there. I quickly switched the cords, ran across the room, sat down at eye level...... AND ....... YESSSSSSS .... we have a clear picture .... and I'm not even laying on the ground !!!!!!!!!

I'm a dummy. The TV is not.

Besides that, the apartment has been coming along at an unusually fast pace. Paula and I really did plan perfect for this move. I couldn't be more happy or excited at what lies ahead for us in that place. The crowning piece of our apartment, our microfiber sectional with chaise is being dropped off this sunday. And we're extremely excited to finally finish all this, and go back to saving money for more pressing matters.

But before we can really start to save, we've got several things planned in the near future:

Feb.21-22: New York City for Paul Van Dyk

Feb.28-March 2: Skiing at Seven Springs w/ Wootang and Brandon

March 7-9: Family visit. Gerard, Minh, Linda, Lu, Mo come to visit and a quick omakase stop @ Morimotos'

March 14-16 : RICHMOND... HERE I COME !!!! (Much needed visit to see my old friends and to hangout with my dawgs. Long overdue. Looking forward to seeing Brandon, Rikka, Janice, and many others. </b>

Subject:Latest . . . .
Time:7:26 pm.
Mood: energetic.
Here's the latest on what's been going on in my life :

First and foremost, I was graced by the presence of my brother this past thursday night. And although it was short-lived, it was great to catch up and see how well he was doing. In a nutshell, he's fallen in love with an amazing woman, and it's great to see that certain smile, that all guys make, that only a true love can render. And although it might have taken awhile for him to find this person, he's never waivered in who he is, or what he wants to be, and that in my eyes, is quite honorable. For there have been tons of people around me that I have seen, who have conformed to something they weren't, all in search of love in all the wrong places.

So my hats off to you, little bro . . . .

Otherwise from that, we both are looking forward to a Philadelphia weekend, March 8th, that will involve several of our good friends, Minh minh810, and G gerardngo. And also included, our respective girlfriends, Paula, Linda, and the newest addition to our crew, Mo mellowmo. It'll be a weekend full of conversing and catching up with people we havent' seen in awhile, and most importantly, an omakase dinner at

As far as the apartment is concerned, Paula and I have been slowly putting the pieces together as far as decorating is concerned. We've bought all the major pieces of furniture that we need, minus a coffee table. We're extremely excited, and looking forward to her roomate moving out, thus allowing us to start the fun task of us living out our own little version of Crib Crashers"!

This past weekend, Paula and I were both in dire need of some drinks, and some loud music. So we headed out to a private party (that including free drinks, a major selling point on us going there) at Tribecca in Philadelphia. We met up with some friends, Carlene and Rob, a couple who seems to have the possiblity of becoming very good friends of ours. Something that we are BOTH extremely excited about. After a night full of Vodka Cranberrys and Cosmopolitans, at several different clubs and bars in Old City, we stumbled home (safely), and crashed.

On sunday we headed out to Spring City, PA , where Paula's parents live for a celebration of her mothers birthday. We purchased a long overdue Coach bag, that Paula's mom wanted, and she seeemed extremely happy and grateful at the gesture. After many chicken wings, and kimchee pancakes, I headed home, and relaxed with my girl as we both contemplated and complained about my departure the following morning.

Lastly and most importantly, I wanted to wish all my fellow asians
